Welcome to Micshariki Africa dada. Why Kibagendi Barrz as your artistic name?

Kibagendi is my surname & I spit bars. Putting that skill on my surname is the plan.

How did you discover your passion for rapping, and what inspired you to pursue it?

Since I was younger  I always  loved rap music  & how rap always  allows me to express  myself  is what inspired me.

How do you describe your music and style?

My music is RAW…my style is urban with a little of edge.

Can you share some of your influences in the Hip-Hop and rap industry?

Nicki Minaj, Lil Durk, Drake, Jay Z. Just to name a few.

What message or themes do you aim to convey through your music?

My biggest thing is confidence in yourself & knowing your self-worth in all aspects of life be it be in a relationship, in your career in whatever you do, know your self-worth. That is my biggest message.

How do you navigate the challenges and stereotypes that may exist for female artists in the rap scene?

I've learnt that I can't  control  certain  stuff in life, especially  other people's  opinions  about my career  or how I look etc. so I focus on the grind. I keep my eyes on the prize that is how I navigate through the challenges.

Are there specific experiences or stories from your life that heavily influence your lyrics?

I believe  that the audience  relates  better  with an artist's music when you are transparent, so personally  everything & anything  I experience for sure influences  my lyrics…

In what ways do you hope to make a unique contribution to the rap genre?

From the first time I fell in love with rap my biggest desire was to be a force in rap. Being able to write my own lyrics, being able to have the hardest /best delivery, have the best stage presence just being an all-round artist.

How do you balance expressing yourself authentically while also appealing to a diverse audience?

Knowledge is power. As for me, what works is studying the audience & also studying my own potential, hence I am able to navigate through....

Let us talk about your most recent project, 'She Bad'. What is the inspiration behind it?

I had just come from a 2-year break from music. I needed a statement song. To make my return, just to remind people who I am...that I actually rap! That is why I went so hard on the track

Are there collaborations or dream projects you aspire to work on in the future?

Yeah for sure, I would love an opportunity to work with Khaligraph Jones. I love his style & his passion for rap is inspiring.

Word of advice to that young female aspiring to be a rapper?

My biggest advice would be “Keep Your Eye On The Prize” no matter what! Focus coz it’s not going to be easy but you've got to go hard & always remember to stay humble & grounded, this will keep you going.

Word to those who believe in you?

I am & will forever be grateful for all the love & support I have received so far. I appreciate each & every one of them.

How do you envision the future of women in Hip-Hop, and what role do you see yourself playing in that evolution?

The future is definitely bright. It is an amazing time in Hip Hop/Rap coz we are now seeing female rappers dominating the industry & I represent hard lyrics, pure passion for rap as a female in the rap game.

What next for Kibagendi Barrz?

I have never released a solo body of work like an album or a mixtape so that is my next step so that the audience can see my full potential as an artist.

Anyone you want to shout out?

My dearest mother. My greatest support system thank you & I thank God for you every day.

Your Parting Shot?

My parting shot is a message of hope...Never give up on your dreams! The universe has a way of making sure they all come true if you are patient enough. Be blessed
