Sainttheremnant, born Samuel Gichuhi Njoroge, is a talented and passionate artist who is quickly making a name for himself in the music industry. With a unique sound that blends different elements of Hip Hop, Sainttheremnant’s music is authentic, captivating and inspiring.
Born and raised in Nanyuki town, Laikipia district, Sainttheremnant was exposed to music at a young age and quickly developed a deep love for creating and performing. After honing his skills and developing his sound, Sainttheremnant has performed at local venues, building a following of dedicated fans.
Since then, Sainttheremnant has continued to grow and evolve as an artist, producer, singer, songwriter, drawing inspiration from his personal experiences and the world around him. With each new release, he keeps pushing the boundaries of his creativity and showcase his unique perspective.
He has since produced soundtracks for TV shows such as “Men’s Conference” on TV47, “The GM Show_DXB TV” and also produces beats which can be found on his beat store.

Who Sainttheremnant?
That’s a very interesting question. Sainttheremnant is a creator. I create in various capacities which makes it difficult to put me in a box really. I am a rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and composer. I’m a person who is constantly growing and looking for opportunities to grow as I morph into what I’m meant to be. I’m a father, a husband and more importantly an image bearer of the one who made me.
Why did you choose Sainttheremnant as your artistic name?
Sainttheremnant is forged from two instances in scripture.
- Saint which simply means a believer of Jesus Christ as referred to them by most New Testament authors.
- Remnant which is derived from the story in 1 Kings when Prophet Elijah ran from Jezebel and asked for the Lord to take his life but the Lord answered him saying that there were 7,000 more remnants whose knees had not bowed to Baal.
So Sainttheremnant, is to say that I want to be among the remnants that the Lord will count on even when most fall away.
Which hood do you represent, Where are you currently based?
Hood? Man! I was born and raised in Nanyuki, Laikipia, a very small town and I'm currently based in UAE where God has graciously provided me a 9-5.
A brief history on when you did start music?
All my life, since I can remember, I’ve been around music. My earliest memory of my interaction with music was when my mother, sisters and I would practice songs every Saturday night that we would in turn sing in church the following day. That would later feed the creative side of things which followed me to school where I would write poetry as well as cipher other artists’ songs like, Backstreet Boys, Usher, Jay-Z, 50 cent, Eminem, Ukoo Flani Mau Mau, to mention just a few. Professionally, I got into the music scene in 2008, one Sunday afternoon after witnessing Astar & Riggah in their element at Mavuno Down-Town. Later that afternoon, I would find my way to “Beatlicious Records” then owned by JBlessings where I recorded my first song called “Nitume” ft Papa Emile. Been in the game ever since.
How has the journey been like so far?
Man! The Journey has been bumpy and interesting at the same time. It’s been a lot of learning and unlearning, highs and lows, at one time I’d left it all together because the process of putting out music is expensive. Once I signed with Elfu Tatu Music where I put out songs like “24/7” prod by Carena, “Greatest” ft Robby Voice prod by Arkish Pro, “Clap” prod by Carena and many others that I never got to release but performed in churches. After a while, I was under Papa Emile for a minute learning how to produce and make beats. Later recorded “Identity” Prod by Gedion Kimanzi. Fast forward to 2017 where I started making beats (most were bootleg ones) which helped me hone the skills required to master this craft, to now having my own beat store on Beatstars where artists can buy quality beats. I have met and interacted with amazing people in the industry thus far, some who are friends to this day. Still learning and studying other great minds in the industry.
Challenges that you have faced in this industry so far?
The challenges are vast but at the top of the list is building relationships has been an uphill task. Another challenge for me was being comfortable in my craft because I have always been authentically different and that kind of made people afraid to embrace my music. I was always told that “hii haiwezi hapa Kenya” or “rap is nothing but noise.” "I was even told that rap will take me to hell." Getting airplay in my day was really difficult which, again, trickles down to relationships but that has changed thanks to technology. That said, I believe that people out here know and yearn for good & quality music and if you have a good product, people will listen.
What is that one unique thing that sets you apart from your peers?
Wow. Whatever sets me apart is nothing I haven’t freely received from above.
- A) Authenticity- I don’t try to be like anyone else and I will find a way to say what needs to be said.
- B) I’m a polymath- I excel in different aspects of art.
- C) I evoke emotion through my art- from composing, writing and recording, I put my heart in it, and I will bring out the present emotion, give it life and make it tangible to the listeners who are in different spaces, in different seasons.
Since you started doing music, what is that one crucial lesson that you have learnt?
The lessons are many but the crucial ones, especially in the music business, I summarize in a few words, Patience: Practice: Educate yourself: Pray.
Any upcoming projects lined up?
Yessir! After my EP “Beautiful Feet” that dropped in 2021 (available on Spotify), this year I’m working on a body of work that will drop in a month or two, the details will be available when the dates are concluded. Two of the songs in the album, however, are available on all streaming platforms.
How do you describe the type of music you typically create?
I create Hip Hop music, I just happen to share the gospel through it.
Your top five Kenyan rappers, and the reason why?
My top 5, in no particular order is, Riggah, Nyashinski, Khaligraph, King Kaka and The Swamii (Recent favorite). They’re wordsmiths.
What’s the best advice that you been given?
Hard work beats talent every time.
What else do you do apart from music?
Apart from music, I’m an entrepreneur
